Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
SueShield builds its own site the way it tells clients to build theirs. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA and treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a checkbox. We don't claim perfection — we claim a standard, a method, and a working channel to tell us when something falls short.
What this site does
- Semantic structure with landmarks, one h1 per page, and a logical heading order
- A skip link, keyboard-operable navigation, and visible focus on every interactive element
- Color pairs chosen for AA contrast, layouts that reflow at narrow widths and 200% zoom
- Labeled forms with connected hints, an announced error summary, and autocomplete attributes
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences; no autoplay, carousels, flashing content, or overlay widgets
- Core content and forms remain usable without JavaScript; the record search has an email alternative
Testing
The site is reviewed with automated tooling and manual checks — keyboard passes, zoom and reflow, contrast verification, and reduced-motion behavior. We keep an internal log of exactly which checks ran in which environments, and we report only environments actually tested.
Known limitations
- Display fonts come from Google Fonts and degrade to system fonts if blocked.
- Looking up records needs JavaScript; there's an email fallback right beside the search box.
- Assistive-technology review runs on a recurring cycle; findings are addressed as identified.
